• The Quiet Revolution: A beautiful, understated film about a group of women fighting for equal rights in 1950s America. This was my personal favorite. It really made you think. I cried, I laughed, I wanted to join their fight. This was a film you could feel in your bones.
• Whispers of the Bayou: A creepy, atmospheric thriller set in the Louisiana swamps. Honestly, it freaked me out a little. Great acting, amazing cinematography...and some seriously scary moments. I swear I dreamt about alligators for a week after seeing it.
• Lost in Translation (The Musical): Okay, I'll admit, I wasn't sure about this one at first. A musical remake of a classic film? But it totally worked! The songs were catchy, the choreography was amazing, and the acting was superb. It felt fresh, not just a rehash.

This category was seriously intense. Each director brought such a unique vision to their films, and they completely nailed it in their own ways. I was honestly blown away by every nominee's work. There’s a reason these folks are nominated for the Academy Awards!

• Isabelle Moreau ("Whispers of the Bayou"): Moreau created a truly unnerving atmosphere, and her work with the actors is just breathtaking. It was a masterclass in suspense and how to really scare people on a budget.

My biggest regret? Not going to the Oscars myself! I've always dreamed of walking that red carpet, but alas, this year, I stayed home in my PJs watching the show. Maybe one day. This is going to have to be a 2026 goal.
